Punjab India News

Tarn Taran November 23, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Legislative Constituency In-charge Khadoor Sahib and former MLA, expresses strong resentment over the release of rape convicted Dera Sacha Sauda self-styled Pakhandi Sadh Gurmeet Ram Rahim on furlough from Rohtak Jail. This decision has sparked significant opposition and resentment within the Sikh communities.

Brahmpura raises grave concerns regarding the release, emphasizing that Gurmeet Ram Rahim was found guilty of committing heinous crimes against women. Allowing him temporary freedom through furlough undermines the principles of justice and deeply affects the victims who endured his actions.

He expressed deep concerns over the alleged deliberate parole given to self-styled Sadh by governments, which have the potential to significantly hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community. Such actions, according to Brahmpura, which knowingly reinforce feelings of minority status among Sikhs within the country.

Furthermore, Brahmpura brings attention to the plight of Sikh Bandi Singhs, who have been unjustly imprisoned for extended periods despite completing their designated prison terms. He urges their immediate release, stressing the urgent need to address their prolonged incarceration.

The former MLA Brahmpura calls upon the government and authorities to reconsider their decision and prioritize justice for the victims. He firmly states that the release of individuals convicted of such serious crimes is unacceptable and demands prompt action. -END-
